Every refugee the United States admitted, by fiscal year. Hover over or tap a year to see where people came from and who was president.
Data: U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, Refugee Processing Center, Summary of Refugee Admissions, (rpc.state.gov).
Notes: A fiscal year runs October 1 to September 30. FY1975–79 figures are rounded estimates in the source. Regions are harmonized: Europe & Central Asia includes the source's "Former Soviet Union" and "Kosovo" columns; East Asia includes Amerasian immigrants. The Private Sector Initiative (FY1988–93) counts privately funded admissions, which the source reports apart from the regions. Country detail begins in FY2001 and uses the source's country of chargeability; colors in the country view and the year panel are each country's region. Presidents are shown by their dates in office, so a fiscal year can span two.
